| BIC believers at Agawa joined us by smartphone for worship |
Saturday, October 7th, we had a new experience. We held intercontinental worship via smart phone with a small group of BIC believers in rural Japan. Believers from Takibe met at Agawa and prepared their smart phone, while we prepared ours in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania.
I told them about my experiences with the Old Order River Brethren. I explained my interest in the Old Order River Brethren custom of shared leadership. Dr. Thomas briefly explained the meaning of the phrase, "old order." He also talked about the Anabaptist value of priesthood of the believers as the basis for shared leadership and group decision-making. Mr. Oshikiri (the man on the right in the photograph) has already prepared a Japanese version of the service and distributed it to a meeting of Anabaptist leaders.
