At 9:36 in the morning on Friday, August 4th, I left Japan, heading to the United States to study peace theology at AMBS (Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary) in Elkhart, Indiana. Before leaving Japan, my friends gave me a farewell. On Sunday, July 30th--my last Sunday before leaving--I preached at Yayoidai BIC church. It was bittersweet: I am excited to go, but I will miss my family and friends.

I arrived at Harrisburg International Airport at 10:00 p.m. the same day. Frank and Irene Stoltzfus, members of the Elizabethtown BIC church, met me at the airport and took me to their home, where I slept for the night. They were so gracious to meet me that late and transport me to their home.
